I did an interview about 1950s-era Toronto bank robber Edwin Alonzo Boyd and Norman “Red” Ryan (a bank robber who pretended to reform) for the True North Heists audiobook.

I did an interview about “Great Imposters” for an episode of The UnXplained, a television show on The History Channel hosted by William Shatner.

I talked about Clark Rockefeller (a German exchange student who adopted new identities in America), Anna Anderson (who claimed to be part of the Czar’s royal family), and Ferdinand Demara (who posed as a naval surgeon, and other occupations).

The episode aired in October 2020.


I did an interview with Donna Carrick about crime-writing for her Dead to Writes video/podcast show.

I discussed my latest book, The Boy on the Bicycle, which tells the story of Ron Moffatt who was wrongly convicted of murder in Toronto in 1956 when he was 14-years-old. We also talked about other books I have written.

My textbook, The Big Con, examines various scams. The Big Con is available through Barnes and NobleKoboAmazon, and publisher ABC-CLIO.

This episode is about Anthony Gignac. Born into poverty in Colombia, Gignac was adopted by a Michigan family and went on to impersonate a Saudi prince. The episode was posted on Vanity Fair’s Facebook page on December 5, 2019.

My book tells the story of Ron Moffatt who was wrongly convicted of murder in Toronto in 1956 when he was 14-years old.  

The Star is the main newspaper in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, where Ron currently lives with his wife, Debbie Speers.

I was one of several true-crime authors interviewed by The Strategist (online newsletter for New York magazine) to recommend books about con artists.

I recommended Empire of Deception by Dean Jobb among other books.

Empire focuses on the astonishing story of Leo Koretz, a Chicago lawyer turned con artist who stole $30 million from investors in the 1920s.

We discussed the FBI’s war on criminals such as Baby Face Nelson, John Dillinger, and Pretty Boy Floyd.
